! ATTACKED BY AMERICAN EOMBERS LONDON, November 24. Large formations of Fying Fortresses bombed submarine pens and clocks at Toulon to-day, while Li'berators attacked railway yards at Solia. This was officially announced from Allied headquarters in North Africa. A smaller formation of Fortresses bombed a coastal railway viaduct near Cannes, The Vichy "radio announced that 30 buildings were destroyed in the Toulon raid. The number of victims lias not yet been established, but it is feared that it will be high. The raid started at 1.30 p.m., and lasted half an hour. The Budapest radio said that b'O American bombers, with strong fighter cover, attacked Sofia, hying over the city in two groups. The alert lasted from 15.45 p.m. to 3.3 p.m. A Bulgarian communique stated : " Groups of enemy planes to-day Hew over Bulgarian territory and bombs were dropped on several places. Several raiders were shot down. The Prime Minister, Professor Filoff. visited the damaged town immediately after the attack."
