FISHING SEASON

TAUPO AKD ROTORUA DISTRICTS (P.A.) WELLINGTON. October 20. The fishing season for the Taupo and Rotorna fishing districts, which include the Bay of Plenty and Waikaremoana waters, will be from November 1, 1943, to May 14, 1944, tlie Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Parry, said to-day. Inspections by departmental officers indicated that under suitable conditions trout could be seen rising in places. There had been an amendment to the regulations for the Rotorua fishing district prohibiting from November 1 to Mav M. 1946, fishing in Wairna Stream and the waters of Lake Tarawera, around the mouth of that stream, A similar prohibition applied to Wairoa Stream, between the watorfnllis and Lake Tarawera. These were waters in which trout fry had been liberated."
