LABOUR DAY HOLIDAY
RACE TRAINS WELL PATRONISED After a wet and cold day in Dunedin yesterday, conditions improved this morning, and enabled a fairly large number of city residents to travel to the various sporting attractions arranged for Labour Day. Very light rain fell in the early morning, but the sky cleared later .and the sun shone,' although there was a cold wind. The railway station presented a busy appearance this morning when the special trains to the Gore races and the Oamaru trotting meeting were about to leave. About 250 passengers left the city for Gore and about GOO for Oamaru. A seaside train canned about 200 passengers from Dunedin.
