AMERICAN MINERS ON STRIKE Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright WASHINGTON, Oct. 24. Unless they return to the pits by Tuesday the 22,000 striking coal miners have been .warned by the War Labour Hoard chairman (Mr William H. Davis) that the Government will seize the mines and cancel the miners' draft deferments and employment privileges. The strike began when the Government returned the control of the mines to the oWners after five months of Government operation. A spokesman says the miners will refuse to work in the absence of a satisfactory contract.
