OTAGO BOYS' HIGH SCHOOL

80TH ANNIVERSARY SERVICE This morning representatives of many decades of old iboys of the Otago Boys' High School wore present at a service held in the school hall at 9 o'clock to celebrate 'the- eightieth anniversary of its founding. After the usual-prayers, conducted by the rector. Mr H. P. Kidson, Mr W. 11. Brugh, chairman of the Board of Governors, and Mr H. H. Walker, president of the Old Boys' Association, welcomed the old boys back to the school. JVtr F. H. Campbell then addressed the gathering, giving an interesting summary of the beginnings of the present school. He referred to many athletic and sporting events of .the early days in which he had been concerned., Before the closing of the ceremony there was a roll calf of boys who had served under the various rectors.

An honoured guest at the function was Mr T. M. B. Muir, the first boy to enter the school on August 3, 1863, whose name was No. 1 on the first roll.
