NEW ZEALAND TEAMS AT PLAY (N.Z.E.F. Official News Service.) CAIRO, July 8. Carrying his bat in his third successive innings for the Gezira Club, M. P. Donnelly, of Canterbury, scored 111. In his previous not out performances this New Zealand test player scored 65 and 49. New Zealand Ordnance defeated British Field Park Company by 92/ runs, James contributing 50 of New Zealand's total of 161. Helwan R.A.F. beat a New Zealand unit eleven by 52 runs, Stace being top scorer with 55. New Zealand made 147. Declaring at 18C for nine wickets (Burgess 54, Scott 62), New Zealand Supply was beaten by the Alexandria Club by'a narrow margin, the winning hit being from the fourth ball of the final over.
Scoring at a fast rate, the 19th Armoured Regiment (229) defeated Alexandria Club (216) with three wickets in hand. New Zealand's top scorers were Whitehead (62), Allen (52), Sumpter (32), and Hyndman (23).
