ORGANISER'S APPRECIATION " It is with deep appreciation that as organiser for the National War Savings Campaign (Duuedin area) I have to report that national savings and bond sales contributed over £710,000 towards Otago's quota in the third Liberty Loan," stated Mr A. Thomas to-day. Tins bad been achieved only by the great team work of the members of the National War Savings Committee, who worked as an adjunct to the 'War Loans Committee. His committee, Mr Thomas said, was re-' sponsible for bond sales and national savings investments. " I would like to mention especially Messrs Herbert and Dave Palmer, the' organisers"-at the Post Office, They did great work The officers and personnel of the Navy, Army, and Air Force and kindred organisations, the retailers and manufacturers' associations, Chamber of Commerce, commercial travellers, the bands, the'education: boards, 4ZB, 4YA, Mr Peter Dawson and party, Mr C. "V, Smith and party, the staffs of the banks, Dunedin Savings Bank, Post Office, the Labour Party organisation, the fire brigade, mayor and councillors, employees of firms, the U.S.A., St. John and Rr-d Cross, tlie Press, all co-operated heartily to help my committee achieve such a result.

"To a',l,' including the public, 1, as organiser for the Dunedin area, tender my sincere thanks. It, all goes to show what Otago can do when the cause is a worthy one. The result is inspiring and a tangible expression of goodwill to our men overseas.

"I trust those having national savings accounts, whether individually or in a group, will keep up their contributions and see that Otago is head of the list when national sayings figures are presented up to March 31 next. All amounts paid in up to June 31, 1944, are repayable on June 30, 1946. "It can fairly be said, ' Well done, Otago!'"
