COLLABORATION A FAILURE
ADMISSION BY LAVAL LONDON, July 12. M. Laval, broadcasting to former war prisoners, admitted the failure of his policy of collaboration with Hitler. "1 felt that France was, saved at Montoire when 1 signed the agreement with Hitler,' he said, "but subsequently praeticallv everything has been lost, i had the feeling during >the interview with Hitler that I had achieved an immense success for France, but on an evil day I again came up against Britain. 1 have been described as fanatically opposed to Britain, but I am a* Frenchman and love only my country."
