GHANCE FOR SMALL INVESTORS (P.A:) WELLINGTON, April 18. Small investors will have their chance of investing in the pending war loan, when there will be bonds of £1 and £lO denominations. The delegates at the National War Savings Organisation conference in Wellington agreed to combine in the war loan campaign, and their committees will concentrate nn those investors who can take these bonds of small denominations and up to £SO, or at least make additional deposits in thoir existing war savings accounts. Some of the delegates, who said they were frequently questioned about the expenses of the War Savings Organisation, were told that as a result of the voluntary work of the organisations in the larger, centres and that of the other 200' committees, the ratio of expenses to collections was under 1 per cent This was exceptionally low, in view of the fact that the bond sales pxelnded the deposits made each month in the 327.000 war savings accounts. It was stated that at present 30.000 of the population of New Zealand ha<l invested in war loans, 'hut-to equal the Canadian effort, concerning which the Minister of Finance, Mr Nash, gave details to the conference, there must be 200.000 investors. The secretary-treasurer, Mr R. C. Ashwin, told delegates of war costs and fif the measures so far taken to meet these costs, which had enabled silt equal bnlin"p to b" kept between taxation and internal loan moneys.
