SUBMARINE MENAGE
U.S. OUTPUT OF ESCORT SHIPS WASHINGTON, April 16. The Secretary of the Navy, Colonel Knox, told the Truman Senate Investigating Committee that the construction of escort fighting ships was now proceeding so swiftly that the submarine problem would be well in hand before the end of the year.
