GREEN ISLAND AFFAIRS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —A small matter our council might consider holding over is the drainage of certain houses not yet joined up with the sewer. Galvanised pipe and copper cisterns are well nigh unprocurable, as is also suitable labour, to say nothing of high prices. Some of these ratepayers, their sons, and even their daughters, are away on active service, and their wives and families have quite enough worry at the present time. —I am, etc., Soldier’s Father. Green Island, September 9.
