FLYING BOAT MISSING
QANTAS AIRWAYS LINER Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, April 1. . ,No trace has been found of the Qantas Empire Airways flying boat Circe, which has been overdue since Eebruary 28. The Circe, with a crew of four and 16 passengers, was last reported by wireless when 150 miles; from Tjiiatjap, bound for Australia. At that time there were cyclonic disturbances south of Java, as we_ll_ as much Japanese air and naval activity. The first officer of the plane was Flying-officer M. V. Bateman, who came from New Zealand in 1938.
