Douro Handicap Winner. Dinah Dhu, who returned an outsize divident when she won the Douro Handicap on Saturday, is five years old and by Caledon from Sandra. She is owned by Mr W. Massetti, and was taken to Trentham from Riccarton for that race only.

Trentham Totalisator Figures. During the two days’ racing at Trentham only five first favourites scored. The tolalistaor turnover, £177,959, was £103,038 10less than was handled, during the three days last year, and Saturday's turnover, £100,136 10s, .was down £11,736 as compared with the concluding day in 1941.

Canterbury Mid-summer Meeting. The Canterbury Jockey Clul\ lias received 157 nominations for seven events at its raid-summer meeting to be held on the Motukarara course on Saturday week. The eighth race is the Middle Park Plate, for two and three-year-olds. Night Pal and Hearth are the local representatives engaged; they have been nominated for both die Midsummer Handicap and Craven Plate.

Related to Swordstick. The Trial Plate winner at Trentham on Saturday, Dolly Greene, is a three-year-old filly by Bulandshar from Sporting Love. This was only her second start, having run unplaced in the Apprentices’ Plate on the opening day of the meeting. The Challenge Stakes, £I,OOO, six furlongs, was won by High Caste 10.1. who beat Evergreen 8.8 and Panehio 7.12 by a long head in Imin 12isec. K. Bavtle rode both winners. At the Moonee Valley meeting the William Reid Stakes, six furlongs, was won by Chatasan 8.5, with Connaru 7.2 and Orteii 8.6 in the places. Time, Imin 131 sec. Gunigoid 8.9 won the Cvanmalian Trial Handicap, one mile and a-hnlf. from Miss Rebecca 7.12 and Wood Gate 7,6, in 2min 34Jscc. Wingalui Horses. Hearth had the services of E. .1. Ellis in Ihe saddle when she won the Racing Club Handicap on Saturday; and, always well placed, won very easily. Tins was her first success over a middle distance, and the omy previous race she has won this season was over a mile at the Trentham spring meeting last October. Prince Shari beat all but the winner in the Trial Plate, and this is easily his best performance to date. Compeer was unlucky lo meet The Champ in the second division of the Camp Handicap, as, after winning three races in succession last. November, the Defoe gelding lost all form and failed badlv in the Apprentices’ Plate on the first day of the fixture. Money Bud was uninekv' in Ihe draw for positions in the Nursery Handicap, starting from the extreme’outside. Ho began smartiy, but was too seriously handicapped, being so wide out early.
