of Weddorhurn, for failure to furnish the prescribed return of land. Mr Deaker said that a plea of guilty had been entered at Ranfurly. Mrs indor, he said, had owned land since March, 1933. and had made no return covering it. inder had owned land for many years, and he had never made a return. He had been prosecuted in 1931 for failure to do so, and a penalty had been imposed. A warning had been issued in August last that if returns wore not made by March of this year proceedings would he taken, for the department intended to prosecute in all cases where failure to make a return was due to carelessness.
