TAKING ALL IN ITS PATH.—AII but some eight feet of a 47ft bridle fence was swept down when this three-ton truck mounted the footpath in the Main North road this morning. The vehicle, which was proceeding citywards when the steering failed. crashed into a post carrying the main telegraph hues out of the city and rebounded into the brick fence, eventually coming to rest with the tip body wrenched from the chassis Some idea of the force of the collision is gained from the fact t hat the telegraph post was splinered and broken, though the frontal damage to the truck was comparatively light in the circumstances. What is more amazing is the fact that the driver got off without a sera tch, though Ins windshield was shattered.
