LANCASHIRE AND YORKSHIRE SOCIETY

The Lancashire and Yorkshire Society held its weekly social on Saturday last. Tho president, Mr F. D. Swift, was in tho chair, and Mrs MacDonell acted as accompanist. Mrs G. A. Ridding was tho winner of tho lucky number competition. An enjoyable time was spent in community singing and games, interspersed with tho following items; —Recitations, Mr Alan Hay, ‘The Tale.of a Tack’ jnd ‘The Referee Mrs Knopp, ‘ The Lion and Albert ’ and ‘The Return of Albert’; song, Mr F. D. Swift,’ ‘Hundred Fathoms Deep’: Yorkshire reading, Mrs Walker. To close the function members sang the society’s song, ‘ KoSes Red and Roses White.’
