PORT CHALMERS CRICKET CLUB
OPENING ON SATURDAY Members and friends of the Port Chalmers Cricket Club turned out ' in large numbers when the season was officially opened on Saturday. Brief addresses and. welcomes Jo those present were given by the president of the club (Mr Thomas SYSistrong), the mayor (Mr H. Watson), and Mr Alex. Knight, fopfe'senting the Otago Cricket Association. . 1 Following these proceedings afternoon tfa was served, the cluß being indebted to Mcsdames Armstrong and Frederick Carter for their assistance in this matter. The first ball was bowled by Mrs Knight to her husband, and later, at a practice game, Messrs Armstrong. Culbert. and Braithwaite, three old stalwarts, showed that they were still as keen as formerly.
