Daily Intercession

FOR PRISONERS OF WAR. O God, Who givest hope to the hopeless, help to the helpless, and Who settest the captive free, tee beseech Thee to look in mercy on our brethren who, having fought for King and Empire, for liberty mid right, are now prisoners of war. Let Thy pity, Thy pardon, Thy refreshment fall on them. Lift up their hearts to Thyself and 01 them with quiet courage, with patient hope, with unshaken trust. Minister to their needs and succour them in their distresses. May they know that freedom which no tyranny can violate, wherewith Christ makes us free. Awaken in the hearts of their captors that pity and kindness, that justice and mercy which should _ mark all mankind made in Thine image; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
