At a largely-attended meeting of tramwaymen, the following resolution was unanimously carried:—“That this meeting of Dunedin tramwaymen pledges itself to give the Government all the support in its power concerning the 'Doctors’ Bill now before Parliament, and deplores the action of a certain section in opposing such a humanitarian measure. The tramwaymen congratulate the Government on its courageous attitude in bringing down a measure to ensure that the medical benefits under the Social Security Act will bo available to the public on November 1, 1941.”
