WEEK’S ATTRACTION
Visitors to the top of the Rhododendron Dell, in the uppbr Botanic Gardens, will see the magnolias in bloom at present. Their large individual flowers make the magnolias outstanding among trees and shrubs, good specimens adding distinction to any garden. _ Their chief economic value is for timber, some species also . having medicinal •values. They are widely distributed in temperate and sub-tropical countries. They were named after Pierre Magnbl, French botanist and professor of medicine. Time taken from shopping can he up if you utilise the thriving Gardens shopping centre.
