BLANKET COMMANDEER

BRUTAL GERMAN ACTION NORWEGIAN PEOPLE'S PLIGHT GOTHENBURG, Sept. 26. The Nazi representative in Norway, Hex-r Terboven, lias ordered all wool blankets, except in the northern districts, to be surrendered by September 30 for the use of the German troops in Russia. Those not complying with the order are liable to imprisonment for throe years. The Norwegian Director-General of Health, Lieutenant-colonel , Evang, stated in London that this is a desperate and brutal step. The climate of Norway demands the heating of houses in many districts for eight months of the year, and as the Germans are unable to supply sufficient fuel for heating, warm clothing and bedding are more necessary than ever, and also in view of the lack of foodstuffs of high calorific content.
