"COMFORTS FOR FIGHTERS”
AMENDED LIST OF RETAIL FUNCTIONS The secretary of the retail section of the “ Comforts for Fighters ” Fund June Appeal Committee (Mr James Caldwell) advises that some amendments have been made to the list of functions published last night as arranged by retailers for this cause. The attention of those who were intending to assist is drawn to the fact that tho staff of Chas. Begg and Company will now’stock the dug-out on Saturday, June 21, and not next Saturday as previously stated. The following is the amended list of activities arranged:— To-morrow. —Card party in Messrs Dreavcrs’ showroom. June 17.—Card parly, Chas. Begg and Co., R.S.A. Social Hall. June 19.—Card party, Andrew Lees Ltd., Wilson Hall. Dug-out, Whitcombe and Tombs Ud. Juno 20.—Sweet stall, Dawson's Ltd., in front of shop June 21.—Dance and variety, Arthur Barnett Ltd., Crawford Lounge (both floors). Dug-out. Chas. Begg and Co. June 21.—Concert, Whitcombe and Tombs Ltd., R.S.A. Hall. Juno 25.—Concert. Dawsons Ltd., Jubilee Hall. Dug-out, Arthur Barnett Ltd. June 26. —Dug-out, Woohvorths Ltd. June 28.—Baby photo competition and carnival, Hannah’s Ltd., Wilson Hal!. The date on which tlio staff of Penrose’s will conduct a sweet stall outside the shop is temporarily in abeyance.
