NEW AIRCRAFT CARRIER
FORMIDABLE JOINS MEDITERRANEAN FLEET LONDON, March 26. Admiral Cunningham’s Mediterranean Fleet has recently been strengthened by one ol' the latest and most powerful new ships of the Navy, the aircraft carrier H.M.S. Formidable. This ship has already Jived up to its name, since she launched herself half an hour before time at Belfast in August. 3939. She is a sister ship to the Illustrious. Her tonnage is 23.000 tons, and she carries 1C -1.-jin guns.
