THE AMERICAN AMBULANCE

GOOD WORK IN BRITAIN GOST BORNE ENTIRELY BY SUBSCRIPTIONS LONDON, March 13. (Received March 14, at 9 a.m.) Approximately £2,000 weekly is required to meet the maintenance costs of the American Ambulance in Britain. This was revealed by Mr G. Carr, director of the American Ambulance in Britain, to-day. This, he said, was borne entirely by subscriptions from the United States and American residents in Britain. Recently a donation of 100,000 dollars had been received from the British War Relief Society of America for maintenance of the fleet of 2GO motorised ambulances, surgical units, and mobile first-aid [joints. The American Ambulance had established a record recently, Mr Carr said, when in four hours it evacuated 420 people from a Cardiff hospital during a heavy air raid.
