SOUND INVESTMENTS FINN A continued demand for all sound investment lines was again the most notable feature of the callover on the Dunedin Stock Exchange this morning. Conditions remained unchanged, and trading was limited to a sale on ’Change of Wailahu Gold, at 9d, the figure at which these shares have been offering for some time. Government loans, as usual, were practically confined to bids from buyers, at firm but conservative rates. Banking and insurance investments were firm. The continued offer of New Zealand Refrigerating at laic low levels induced bids, but no business was done, sellers remaining at their initial offers. Wellington Woollen was bid -for at £3 13s. tc an offer steady at £7. Broken Hills remained steady at yesterday’s rates. Felt and Textiles (£ll were on offer at £2 2s 6d, ami the first quotation of -G. Coles for some time saw this sleek offering at £3 6s. Breweries remained weak. Waitahu, following the sale, was quoted at 8d (buy) and lOd (sell). SALES REPORTED. —On ’Change.— Waitahu. 9d. —Yesterday.— 4 per cent Stock, 194346, £lO2. D.I.C. (pref.), £1 3s 9d. The Wailahu Gold Mining Company Ltd. reports the completion of paddock No. 25, the final return being 750 - lOdwt. _ Since elevating operations commenced in this paddock on November 18 last 218 oz Idwt of gold have been recovered.
