SPOKE TO JURYMEN

CONDUCT OF PETITIONER'S FATHER JUDGE ORDERS NEW TRIAL [Pek United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, February 21. The unusual action of withdrawing a case from the jury and ordering a new trial was taken by Mr Justice Blair in the Supreme Court to-day when defendant’s counsel, in a divorce suit, complained that petitioner’s father had been seen speaking to some of the jury. His Honour said though the remark* to the jurymen might have been innocent the fact that something had been said created a suspicion, and he had no option but to discharge the jury and order a new trial, granting 20gs costs to the respondent.
