CHRISTMAS CONCERT

On Monday nest, in the Town Hall, th* Royal Dunedin Male Choir will present what for years has .been its most popular event —the Christmas concert. Once agai» the choir will be supported by the choir of the King Edward Technical College, an<| those who heard this combination last year will realise that something out of the ordi. nary is to be presented. For the occasion Dr Vernon Griffiths has put an enormous amount of work into arrangements of Christmas hymns and carols. The first half of the programme will consist of some of the finest works in the Male Choir’s library, and in the second half the children’s voices will combine with the men in such well-known Christmas music a» ‘ Adestc Fidelos,’ ‘While Shepherds Watched,' and ‘ Hark, the Herald Angels.* The accompaniments, written by Dr Griffiths, are for the piano alone (four hands); and for the organ. Dr V, E. Galway will be at the organ, while, as usual, Mr Alfred Walmsley will conduct. The plan will ope* at Begg’s to-morrow.
