Mrs H H. Petrie. Invercargill, passed through Dunedin this week en route to spend a holiday in Sydney
Mrs T. C. Fraser, of Hamilton, who has been the guest of Miss Fraser. Highgato has returned to the north
Mr' and Mrs G. M'Vicker have left for Tauranga,. where they intend to spend several weeks.
Mrs C. Mackie Begg has returned from a visit to Wellington, accompanied by her son, Dr C. M. Begg, just back from England.
Mrs J. A. Jenkins has returned from a visit to Havelock North, accompanied by her sister, Mrs Adam Bell, who is at present her guest.
Miss Meg Saunders, of the Y.W.C.A. staff in Wellington, returned north on Monday morning after spending a few days in Dunedin on holiday
Miss Gwen Smith, of Anderson’s Bay has left for Wellington, en route to Bu'lolo 'River. New Guinea, where she will stay with her brother, Mr Roland Smith.
Mrs R. A Ewing left yesterday by plane for Wellington Later she will visit Palmerston North, where, as a delegate from the Columba College Board of Governors, she will attend a conference of Presbyterian educational institutions.
The Mornington branch of the Lady Galway Guild has closed down until the beginning of February The members of this branch, who were faithful in their attendance, put, through a very considerable number of parcels of all kinds of clothing, which have been sent to the headcpiarters in the Town Hall
The Hon Mrs Ralph Vane has arrived in Auckland after spending some time in Fiji While there Mrs Vane held a successful exhibition of her paintings in aid of the lied Cross and bomber fund So much interest was taken in her collection that all the pictures were disposed of in 24 hours, the sum of £l2O being realised Mr and Mrs 0 S Robertson gave an enjoyable dinner party at Wain’s Hotel on Wednesday evening last in honour of the coming of age of their daughter Lucy.
