VISIT TO DUNEDIN PARADE AND CONCERT TO-MORRSW NIGHT The visit of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band to Dunedin to-morrow will initiate the launching of the Spitfire Fighter Plano and Loudon Distress Relief appeals in the Otago province. The baud, which is 58 strong, under Flight-lieutenant Gladstone Hill, has everywhere had ,a remarkable reception. It will arrive from Invercargill by the morning express and march from the station up Stuart street to tho Strand Theatre, and return direct to the Town Hall, where the members will be banded over to those citizens who have consented to billet them. In the afternoon the band will visit the Taieri aerodrome, where an inspection will be made by the Minister of Defence, tbe Hon. F. Jones. In tho evening the biggest Air Force parade yet held in the city will take place. Tne full strength of the Taieri training centre, under Squadron-leader Stedmau, will participate. The parade will assemble at the Rattray strcct-Cumberland street intersection and march off at 6.50 p.m., headed by the Air Force Band. Passing through the Octagon, tho salute will be

[taken by the Minister of Defence, who will be accompanied by the Mayor, Mr A. H. Allen. After passing the Hospital the parade will return through the Octagon to the Main Town Hall, where the band will give a popular concert, commencing at 8 p.m. As a compliment to the visiting band and the Air Force the Kaikorai Band will play at the Moray Place entrance to the Town Hall prior to the concert. The concert will be attended by the Hon. P. Jones and Mrs Jones, the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs A. H. Allen), and the officers and men from the Taieri. A short address of welcome to the band and on the initiation of the Spitfire Fighter Plane and London Distress Relief appeals will be given by the Mayor. During the concert programme Miss Bertha Eawlinson will sing ‘ Land of Hope and Glory ’ and ‘ Song of Great Courage,’ and Mr Arthur Macdonald will open the second half by singing ‘ There’ll Always Be An England,’ with band accompaniment. A popular charge of one shilling is being made to all parts of the hall.
