SIR PERCY SARGOOD
FUHEEAL THIS MM ING SERVICE AT THE CREMATORIUM Mourned by hundreds, Sir Percy Sargood, one of Dunedin’s most publicspirited citizens, this morning went to his final rest, u large concourse of citizens paying their last respects in brilliant sunshine at the Anderson’s Bay Cemetery, where the remains were cremated. Of all tributes, the most striking was that paid by the Boy Scouts, in which movement Sir Percy had revealed a remarkable enthusiasm since its inception. To-day at “ Marinoto,” the late Sir Percy’s residence, 250 Scouts lined the drive, paying homage, while at the cemetery the _ drive from the gates to the Crematorium was similarly lined by 143 Boy Scouts and Spa Scouts, in both instances a most impressive parade. Troops were drawn from all of the 20 units within the city. The service at “ Marinoto ” was concluded shortly after 10 o’clock and the long procession of nearly 100 cars proceeded along the Town Belt, down Stuart street, Princes street being reached via Moray Place, thence to Anderson’s Bay via the Bay road and Lawyer’s Head road.
