Daily Intercession

Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God? . . . He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?. — (Micah vi. 6 and 8.) Eternal God, whose service is perfect freedom, and whose restraints are the restraints of love, enable us so to discipline our lives that we may not be the slaves of our lusts and passions, but that we may indeed be free. Grant that we may lose ourselves in service of our fellows, that we may find the greater self wherein there is no selfishness. We pray for a world wherein men are free, may we have grace to live in the spirit of our prayer, that through us and through all who seek to follow the Christ, Thou mayest be enabled to answer our petition.
