MOTOR TRAGEDY

TWO GIRLS KILLER YOUNG HARRIED WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, November o. Two persons were killed and lour others injured when a motor car left the road at a corner at Burwood early this morning and overturned into the ditch. Those killed were : PATRICIA MARGARET AIARY COLLINS, aged 17, the daughter of Mr J. J. Collins, of 58 Barbadoes street, Sydenham. HAZEL LENORE DANDO, aged 16, the daughter of Air L. Al. Dando, of 18 Clarence road, Lower Riccartou. The four who were injured all suffered from concussion, shock, and abrasions. They were Airs Sylvia Al'Donald, aged 19, of 141 Somerfield street —condition serious; Arthur Pcrcival Ivory, aged 19, of 142 Aliltou street—condition satisfactory; James Edward Lewis, aged 24. of 23 York street —condition satisfactory ; Edward Clifford, aged 23, of 23 York street. Opawa —condition satisfactory, The car, a heavy sedan model, was being driven by Ivory towards North Brighton. It left the road at a corner, skidded in the gravel on the side of the road, and ran down a slight grassy slope into a deep ditch. The left side of the vehicle struck two big poplar stumps, which tore the side of the car completely off. and the roof collapsed. The wreckage was scattered over a fairly wide area, and the spare rim and tyre finished up 100 ft further down the drain.
