Daily Intercession
Blessed he the Lord my rock, Who teacheth my hands to tear, my fingers to fight. My loving kindness, and my fortress, my high tower, and my deliverer, my shield and He in Whom I trust. —(Psalm 144: 1-2.) Compassionate Father, grant us knowledge of our sins and failings, and true contrition for our private and national offences. Help us to preserve a right attitude of mind and temper, suppressing all clamour and bitterness; open our eyes to the way of reconciliation and peace. While the conflict lasts give us readiness for self-sacrifice, courage in hardship, patience in sorrotv and supense, and purification by the discipline of war: through Jesus Christ our Lord.
