MUBTERER DANCES'WITH AIR / FORGE QUEEN SHREWD WORK AT KUROW There is in Kurow an aged musterer known to all as “ Old Bones,” but it has been shown that there are no flics on these old bones. It was on Saturday when an Air Force Queen function was held at Kurow that “ Old Boues ” proved himself possessed of an ingenuity enabling him to take full advantage of a situation. „ He first bad the attention of all focused on himself when he approached Miss Mary Pratt and said he would give £1 to the funds if she would dance with him. Now Miss Pratt is the world’s No, 1 “ sport,” and she at once acquiesced. All watched with interest as she and “ Old Bones ” had their “ quid’s ” worth, the latter appearing in particularly high spirits. The reason for his exuberance was shortly disclosed, and if the joke was on anybody it wasn’t on “ Old Bones.”' For that individual had gone the round* of his many friends before he made his request, and taken bets that he would dance with Miss Pratt before the function ended. The Air Queen’s funds benefited to the tune of £l, but it is reliably reported that “ Old Bones’s ” private funds benefited by many time* that sum.
