MAGISTRATE’S COURT
TUESDAY, AUGUST 27. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) DEFAULT CASES. Judgment by default, with costs, was given °in the 'following oases : —T. W. Bobbie v. Grace Wilson, £3 18s, balance of money paid on her account; A. R. M'Arthur v. John Simpson, £2 Os 2d, goods supplied; D. A. Solomon and R. G. Sinclair v. Harry Marsden, £3 6s, services rendered; F. R. Loughran v. J. Campbell, £5, money lent. BREACHES OF AWARD. Alleging four breaches of the private hotel employees’ award, the inspector of awards (Mr C. H Hoskin) proceeded against Grace Wilson, claiming a £lO penalty in each case. Mr C. J L. White appeared for the defendant. After hearing evidence, the Court imposed a penalty of £2 and- £1 in respect of two breaches relating to wages and £2 and 10s respectively on the breaches relating to the display of a time-table and, the keeping of a first aid outfit in a prominent place, with witnesses’ expenses (14s).
