FEDERAL ELECTIONS
POSSIBILITY OF NEW PARTY THREE LABOUR FACTIONS SYDNEY, August 17. (Received August 17, at 1 p.m.) With a Federal election in the oiling, the possibility of a new political party emerging from a move to encourage the best men in the community to enter Federal politics to assist in winning the war is being discussed by prominent non-parliamentary supporters of the Federal and State Governments. It is felt in some quarters that there is a need for new blood in Parliament. There has been some agitation for a reconstitution of the Federal Cabinet to bring in leading bhsiness men from outside Parliament, but this suggestion is strongly opposed by members of Parliament. As a result of developments at a meeting of the State Australian Labour Party Executive there will probably bo three rival sets of Labour candidates at the Federal elections. The candidates will represent the official Labour Party, led by Mr Curtin; the Australian Labour Party (non-Coramunists), led by Mr Lang and Mr Beasley; and the Militant Labour Party, led by Mr J. R. Hughes and Mr W Evans, of the New South Wales Labour Party Executive, which was recently suspended by the Federal Executive. DUCHY OF LUXEMBURG INCORPORATION IN REICH BERLIN, August 15.
