ST. ANDREW SOCIETY
MONTHLY SOCIAL The monthly social of the above society was held in Wilson Hall on Saturday night, when a large number of members and friends were present. The president (Mr D. Minnock), . accompanied by the rice-president (Mr G. W. Watson) and the immediate past president (Mr A. Robb) .were piped to ( the platform by the society’s official piper, Mr J. M'Vean. A welcome was extended by Mr Minnock to Mrs Kelly, of Wellington, Mr Beivs, of Invercargill, and Mr Munro, of Cambridge, and he asked them to take back to their societies the greetings of the St, Andrew Society of Otago. Items were rendered by the following:—Mr Peter* Gamage, two numbers on the whistle, (‘Jessie’s Dream’ and ‘Because’), Miss Lina M'Donald (‘ Mary of Argyle ’ and ‘ Sweet Mystery of Life ’), Miss Donaldson (two tap dances). A vote of thanks was accorded the performers. The rest of the evening was spent dancing the old-time Scottish dances.
