NORTH OTAGO FARMERS’ PLIGHT AGITATION FOR IRRIGATIOH SCHEME [Pee United Press Association.] OAMARD, March 16. Stating that rape and turnip crops had been ruined and that conditions were almost desperate through lack of moisture in North Otago, Mr A. C. Hurst moved at a meeting _of the Farmers’ Union that the, union urge the Government to implement its promise to make a survey in view of irrigation. Mr Hurst said that with irrigation there would be no need to send away the numerous store sheep. The union decided to write to the Government.
