NAVY LEAGUE

FORMATION OF JUNIOR SECTION At the last monthly meeting of the Navy League, Otago branch, it was decided to form a junior league for the purpose of enabling young members to give service. This junior branch is not to be confused with the Schools’ League, the membership of which is confined to schoolboys and schoolgirls. The ways in which the junior branch can give service are as follows: —• 1. To help in providing comforts for the men of the Navy, merchant service, and R.N.V.R.

2. To take an interest in and help when necessary with hospitality the members of the above-mentioned ser-

vices, and also to take an interest in the Navy League Sea Cadets. 3. To be ready to respond, when possible. in any call, made upon them by the Navy League. The subscription was fixed at 2s 6d per annum, to be paid direct to the Navy League Office in Dunedin, addressed to Miss Fraser. Subscriptions can also be paid through Mrs Sutherland Ross, chairman of the Women’s Committee of the Navy League. All those willing to join and who wish for information are asked to communicate with Miss Fraser at the office, telephone 12-SOO. Those willing to help with providing knitted comforts can obtain information and patterns from

Mrs Ross or another member of the committee, at the Otago Women’s Club, every Friday (after Easter), from 11.30 n.m. to 12.30 p.m.. It was reported that an enthusiastic young member of the Navy League had already procured over 30 girl members for the junior branch.
