Surgeon Lieutenant-commander Arnold Perry, R.N.V.R., left by the 11.35 express this morning for Auckland. Lieutenants M. A, Andrew, P. H. G. Hamilton, P. _B. Miss Neke P. A. Taylor-Cannon, of Alexandra, who for the past two years has been studying at the School Dental Clinic, Wellington, has passed her final examination and expects to be posted to her new duties shortly after Easter.
Mr S. N. Slater, who secured his degree of M.Sc. with first-class honours when he was a student at Otago ■ University, and subsequently was awarded the Travelling Scholarship in Science, is now reading at Oxford University for the degree of D.Phii., for which he hopes to submit his thesis next term. In a letter received from, him by a former teacher, in the Wanganui Technical College he states that jie is trying to make substances whoso physiological properties will bo similar to those of the hormones. from i tho adrenal cortex, and he mentions also that Professor R. D.
