PACIFIST FINED £lO [Peb United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 23.' A. pacifist meeting in Swan Lane oil the night of December 15 had its sequel to-day in the conviction and fining of Archibald Charles (Barrington on a charge of obstructing the lane by holding a meeting. The magistrate (Me Stout) imposed a fine of £lO and costs. Barrington denied that the meeting caused an obstruction, but th« Magistrate said the evidence was sufficient to show otherwise. Barrington also referred a police witness t® the case of Mr Fraser addressing » meeting in Featherston street, and asked if witness would have prosecuted. The Magistrate told witness he need not answer that, it having nothing do with the present case.
