QUIETER TONE PREVAILS
BUYING QUOTES FIRM ADVANCE IN AUSTRALIAN METALS Jfo sales were reported at this morning’s callover at the Dunedin Stock Exchange, and a quieter tone was evident. Quotations, however, remained firm, although noticeably fewer in number. , . _ . Only buyers operated in Government stocks, insurances, and woollen shares, no response at all being made by sellers. ; The Government stock market was firm, as were the others. Mosgiel buying quotes reached £lO during the last ■week, no selling quotation having been xtvade since .that figure was attained. In the breweries section. Tooths had firm buyers at £2 17s 6d, having moved up slightly. Advances were also recorded in the Australian mining section, Mount I,yells and Mount Morgans being the shares affected.
