COMMUNITY SING AT MOSGIEL

Under the auspices of the Mosgiel Businessmen’s Association, a successful community sing was held in tho Coronation Hall last evening. The star attraction was ‘ Dad and Dave’s Arrival from Snake Gully.’ Mr A. M‘Leau impersonated the former and Mr D. Reid the latter. Their arrival in Gordon road and entry to the hall attracted much attention. A programme of popular songs was led by Messrs E. W. Cate, A. M‘Lean, and E. C. Skinner. Good supporting items were given by Misses N. Walker (Outram), Molly Orossan, Master Cliff. Olliver, and Mr J. Henderson. The Taieri Highland Pipe Band played selections. As a background for “ Dad and Dave’s ” entertainment the stage was arranged as a rustic scene, in which appeared a cow. a sheep, and a dog. The characters in this part of the entertainment arrived at the hall in a horse-drawn vehicle.
