The architect’s plans for improvements to the Opera House, estimated to cost £10,600, including new public conveniences, were referred to the special committee. In order to assist the Swimming Club, season ticket charges at the baths were increased, except children’s tickets. The Community Week Executive’s recommendation to hand the balance of funds (£25) to the North End Hall Committee was adopted. It was decided to take steps to acquire the Medway street property of the Crawshaw Estate. It was agreed that, where trees planted on footpaths • encroached on the asphalt, the paths be asphalted an additional width not exceeding the encroachment. at no cost to the property owners. BOXING.
