PARADE OF STALLIONS
CLYDESDALES AT TAHUNA PARK GOOD QUALITY OF EXHIBITS Under prevailing conditions it was not to be expected that the annual parade of stallions held at Tahuna Park this morning would be an outstanding success. Although entries were few, however, and the attendance perhaps not all that could have been desired, the quality of the exhibits was well up to standard. The results of the judging were as follows; CLYDESDALE STALLIONS, four years or over. Mr G. P. Johnston’s Dunmore Superb 1 Mr Andrew Grant’s Strathore Streamline 2 Mr D. S. Brown’s Verdlea Moonlight 8 CLYDESDALE STALLIONS, three years. Messrs Atkinson and Sons’ Vendor 1 Only entry, CLYDESDALE STALLIONS, two * years. Mr R. Hamilton’s colt (unnamed) 1 Only entry. CLYDESDALE STALLIONS, one year. Mr Andrew Carruther’s colt (unnamed) ... 1 Mr John Young’s Royal M'Quaid 2 Mr Andrew Carruthers’s colt (unnamed) 3 The Wright, Stephenson Perpetual Challenge Cup was awarded to Mr Andrew Grant’s Strathore Streamline, while the Donald Reid Memorial Perpetual Challenge Shield, for the champion stallion of the parade, irrespective of age, went to Mr G. P. Johnston’s Dunmore Superb. The judge, Mr W. J. Doak (Rakaia), said that although entries were few in number, their quality was well up to the standard of the Dunedin parade. Although the two and three-year-olds were single entries, they_ would both have held their own against competition. The yearlings were all beasts of finality and would be heard of again in forthcoming shows. Between the first and second horses in the aged classes there was very little difference.
