SONGSTRESS AND GUITARIST Madame Olga Coelho is said to have a happy combination of all the attributes that create success and win the unreserved approbation of audiences. With a sensitised appreciation of her hearers’ tastes, Madame Coelho, who is described as having gifts as soprano and guitarist, has made a feature of Brazilian folk-lore and music, introducing into the series attractive and unusual phases of presentation. Madame Coelho accompanies most of her songs, whether South American or European, on the guitar, which provides an effective accessory to her numbers, her vivacious explanatory prefaces to which are an added attraction to her audience. Madame Coelho, who is being introduced to New Zealand bj Mr A. J. Tait, by arrangement with International Theatre Enterprises, has recently conducted tours of England and the Continent. Her two concerts, in Dunedin have been scheduled to take place in the Concert Chamber next Saturday at a matinee and evening .performance. Her programme will be selected from the most popular items in her . repertoire, which covers a wide diversity of song and musical features.
