ST. KILDA COUNCIL

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING Tho fortnightly meeting of the St. Kilda Borough Council was held last night; The mayor (Mr J. J. Marlow) presided, and present were Crs N. D. Anderson, G. Glue. W. J./Lovell. R. S. Brent, T. D. B. Roy, J. C. Cherry, E. Longworth, H. H. Johnson, and W. Rutherford. FINANCE. Accounts amounting to £521 19s 3d were passed for payment. The receipts totalled £259 5s Id. and the bank balance stood at £2.269 2s 2d. INSPECTOR’S REPORT. The borough inspector (Mr F. do Largey) reported that 19 drivers’ licenses had been issued during the fortnight, and 10 drivers had been tested. One building permit had been issued, and two dogs registered. One dog had also been destroyed, The general inspection of the borough had been carried put, and all complaints attended to.—The report was adopted. WATER SUPPLY. During the fortnight 2.923,000 gallons of water had been used at a cost of £lls 14s. The cost for tho previous fortnight was £ll4 6s 4d. FOREMAN’S REPORT. The borough foreman (Mr J. C. Clyma) reported that kerbing and channelling and general maintenance work had been carried out in various streets.—Adopted. PLUMBER’S REPORT. Tho borough plumber (Mr A. N, Shepherd) reported that ID water bursts had been repaired, in addition to a number of repairs to fire plugs. General repair and inspection work had also been carried out, and the pressure and flow iu the borough tested.—Adopted.
