ROLLER SKATING TO-NIGHT
Expert'instructors are in attendance at the new De Luxe Rink. Filleul street (opposite the Town Hall), to coach beginners. Equipped with modern noiseless floor, new skates, and new music, the new rink has attracted many newcomers to skating. To-night’s programme, from 7.30 to 10, includes the latest skating numbers, with competitions and prizes. There are, sessions daily between 10.30 and 12, 12 and 2, 230 to 4.30, learners’ class (Monday to Friday) 5.30 to 6.45, and every evening at 7.30. The instructional staft is in attendance at all sessions, and private tuition may be arranged, lelephone 10-692. On Friday, August 2t>, a children s plain and fancy dress carnival will be held from 2.30 to 5 p.m. Prizes are being awarded for the best-dressed and most humorous girl and boy, with numerous other prizes for the special competition. Paper hats, caps, streamers. balloons, and novelties be distributed during the carnival. The New Zealand amateur roller skating championships will be held on September 1 and 2, with competitors from all parts of the Dominion taking part.
