CONCERT AT OROKANUI HOME

A concert party under Mr 11, B. Middlemiss, organiser, gave a variety entertainment in the hall at Orokonui Homo on Saturday evening. The programme included songs by Mrs Oliver, Miss Armitage. Mr J. T. Gainsay. Master Alec Cunningham, and) Master Allan Cunningham ; elocutionary items by Miss Noeleno Bachop, Miss Armitage, Master Ivan Bachop; bagpipe selection by Piper M'Vean; tap dance by Miss Audrey 'Wheeler; Highland dancing by Miss Eileen Seven and Lola Robertson (accompanied by Piper M'Vean); vodelling by Mr Hooper; ipiano duet by Mr and Mrs Peterson ; musical items by Mr Ramsay; banjo and mandolin selections by Mr Pellett; piano solo by Mrs Stevens; mouth organ selection by Miss Keenan. An outstanding item was given by a mouth organ band of 11 ladies led bv Mrs Oliver. The accompanists were 'Mrs Stevens, Mr Pellett, and Mr Ramsav. At the close of the concert, which was followed by a short dance to music supplied by Mr Pellett and Air Ramsay, Dr M'Lean expressed thanks to the organiser and performers on behalf of the patients and staff. Mr Middlemiss replied on behalf of performers, and thanked Air A, Steven, of the Patients and Prisoners’ Aid Society, for supplying transport.
