EXECUTIVE MEETS At the first meeting of the new executive of the Dunedin Bowling Centre, which was held on Saturday night, the closing date for entries for the Saturday and Wednesday matches,, and for the four rinks competition, ' was set for September 9. Mr J. J, Oaris (president) occupied the chair. A letter was received from the secretary of the New Zealand Association, who advised that the annual meet lug or that body had decided to take no action with regard to the following remit from the Roslyn Club, which had been forwarded through the Dunedin Centre: “That it be a recommendation to the New Zealand Bowling Council that any bowls tested by any official; howl tester approved by any centre of tie association be accepted in any 1 centre.” —Received, Advice was received from ..the New Zealand Council that the following, i tiling regarding the automatic two-life system had been given at the annual meeting of the association: “ When a twb-lifer and a one-)ifer are left in the first game shall be played on an 18ft rink, that there shall be no time limit, and that in the event of a tie an estt* end shall be played.”—Received. Notification was received from .the New Zealand Council that an application by the Brighton Club for permission to change its colours had been approved. A circular received from ’ the New Zealand Council advised that the association’s next annual tournament would be held at Wellington, commencing oti January 8, 1940. Association wrote advising that that body had passed a resolution thrf no women should be admitted as full members of, nor have voting power, in any club, nor be allowed to take part in any competition controlled : by th* New Zealand Association.—Received.
